So what does all this mean?

  • Strokes Per Hole (SPH) – The average number of strokes per hole for a given course. Gives an average that can be compared against other courses. For example, if you scored 28 on a 9 hole course, the SPH would be 28 / 9 = 3.11. If you scored 57 on an 18 hole course your SPH would be 57 / 18 = 3.16.
  • Average – This is your cumulative average total score.
  • 4 Round Average – This is a moving average of your total score based on the last 4 disc golf rounds entered.
  • 10 Round Average – This is a moving average of your total score based on the last 10 disc golf rounds entered.
  • Total – This is your total score the the disc golf round entered.
  • Score – This is the score of the round; based off your total score – par the disc golf course.
  • Par – All holes for disc golf courses at DiscGolfStats.com are considered par 3. So par for a course is 3 multiplied by the number of holes at the disc golf course.
  • Birds Per Hole % – This is the percentage of birdies scored per hole at a disc golf course. For example, a Birds Per Hole % of %5.556 indicates that this player on average scores a birdie on 5.556 percent of the holes played at the disc golf course.

History

DiscGolfStats.com started as a simple desire to record my disc golf scores and track my progress. That was around the summer of 2001. I started only with Hellyer disc golf course since it  was my home course. After a while I added the people I play with so I could compare our scores. I began adding more courses as I played them including CSU Monterey Bay and DeLaveaga in Santa Cruz. The site gained good placement on the search engines at the time so it started getting a lot of visitors and new users. The site has gone through many revisions over the years and will continue to grow in features.

DiscGolfStats.com is owned and maintained by me alone. I’m a struggling developer that can barely afford the hosting fees to keep the site operating. There have been a few premium members that pay for a few months before canceling… I’m thankful for this but it’s not nearly enough to cover operating costs (mainly the cost of hosting the site). So if you enjoy using DiscGolfStats.com, please consider a donation. Thanks…
