Oroville South Volunteers....I Just wanted to provide some information for volunteering on the new Oroville course to improve the level of play. Just contact Chip Frink at (530)589-9986 for a project. Remember that by simply playing the course you will make the course better. Also remember that this is an existing riparian area. The course as we see it is a compromise between disc golf and the environment. The course was made possible and established by many hours of hard work by the Oroville disc golf community, the Parks Dept. and the through the Environmental Impact Review (EIR) process. The main thing that is needed at this point is the removal of the many dead branches and piles of debris around several holes. It simply needs to be removed from the sides of the fairways and piled up for easy removal by the Park department. You could adopt a particular hole and spend 10 min. or so each time you play. At this point, that’s all the course really needs. So if you are interested and would like to volunteer to help, please contact Chip Frink before beginning any projects at (530) 589-9986. If we all keep playing and put in a bit of organized effort through Chip, the course will improve quickly without jepordising any of the important compromises made during the EIR process. Thanks, and keep it in the fairway..... 6/5/2006 3:41:19 PM0Senior
Bag-Tag Round Continues (But Meet Near Big Fountain)At the last bag-tag round we all decided to meet for the next Mid-Weekly at the main parking lot at Riverbend park near the back of the fountain. We can begin at hole 8 of the south course and will finish on hole 7 for 18 holes. Also, consider the possibility of playing 27 holes by using the front 9 of the North course. Begin with hole one through 8 on the north course, then play hole 8-18 to hole 1-7 south (18 holes) then finish on hole 9 of the north. 27 holes Think about it and we will decide on wednesday6/1/2006 11:35:43 AM0Senior
